You can create a customer on the fly by entering a few important details. This gives you the ability to rapidly create new account without taking up valuable time with your customer with data entry.
Warning: Be careful when using special characters when creating new records from your mobile device. These special characters may make searching for records difficult going forward. For example, if you enter a customer named Michael Peña, the system will be looking for an ñ when you search for this record. This record will not come up if you search "Pena" in Inform or InformMobile, you would need to search "Peña".
To begin, navigate to Menu > Fast Customer and follow the steps below:
Name & Address
Click in the Name field and enter the customer’s company name and address.
Tip: Depending on your phone settings, if you have saved this customer’s information in your phone, you can use your phone’s autofill function for the name and address information in the fast customer.
If this is a prospective customer, tap on the Prospect toggle. This will create this customer as a Prospect, restricting the account to quotes only until the status is changed.
Once you have finished with the Name & Address section, drag the screen up to the General Configuration section.
This section controls customer sales order defaults such as Salesperson, Credit Terms, and Branch. Fill in as much information as needed.
Note: Required fields will have a red exclamation point next to them. These fields must be filled out before saving.
To fill in information, click in any field and type in the name or description and click Return. You can also select the magnifying glass to see a list of all available options for that field.
Fields will display the name or code that you have selected. Click on the code you have selected to display the description.
Once you are finished, click Save Customer to complete your Fast Customer setup.
Note: For a speedy entry process, your system administrator may prefill certain fields by utilizing the Fast Customer Template.
