You can configure customer permissions, choosing what individual customer's see after logging on to your site. You can even configure users to purchase from the order pad only.
User names and passwords for eCommerce are contact-specific, allowing you to set up multiple users for each company. If the customer wants a single user name and password for the entire company, you may want to create a separate contact with a shared email address for this purpose.
- Run Inform and go to File > Customer > Master.
- Choose your customer, and then on the navigation bar, click Contacts.
- Double-click the customer contact who should have access to your eCommerce site.
- On the Contact screen, click Analysis on the navigation bar and verify the contact's email address. This person must have a valid email address recorded in Inform to receive notifications from eCommerce.
- On the navigation bar, click Setup, and then at the bottom of the Setup page, click the Permissions tab.
- Click Edit.
- On the Web panel, type the customer login name in the User Name box and then type a Password. Both are case-sensitive. Do not use quotation marks in either field, and make sure to use at least one number and one letter in the Password.
- To grant the user specific permissions to the eCommerce site, select any of the following check boxes:
- Approve Pending Sales Order
All orders require an approval from this user. Sends a notification to this user whenever someone else in the company submits and order. This user may place orders with no additional approval required. Note that this permission applies only if you have selected Use Pending Orders Processing. File>Company>eCommerce.
- View Order Pad
Allows users to view the Order Pad, which displays products that have been purchased or quoted previously.
- Pay Online: Pay invoices online using a credit card.
- Allow Manual Ship To
Allows the user to create a new Ship-to address during checkout. MobiOrder salespeople must be set up with the appropriate access level to enter manual ship-to's at checkout.
- Order Pad Purchases Only
Allows this user to order only those products listed on the Order Pad.
- View Sales Order
Allows the user to view details of Sales Orders on the Open Order Status and Order History pages.
- View Reports
Allows the user to access and run report options from the Reports page. Inform eCommerce reporting is offered by subscription. If you are not subscribed, leave the option cleared for all users. If cleared, the Reporting page will be hidden on your site.
- View Invoice
Allows the user to view details of existing invoices on the Invoice History and Invoice Summary pages.
- QuickOrder Access: This option has no impact on eCommerce.
- Approve Pending Sales Order
- If you have multiple branch sites, and you want to limit this contact's access, then select the branch site to which this contact should have access from the Branches list.
- From the Ship To's list, select the default ship-to address for online purchases.
- Click Save.
