Sliders rotate through a number of images or "slides" that highlight special products or promotions. By default, your eCommerce Pro site will be configured with a Home page slider. You can later add sliders to any page on your site. The following procedure describes how to add a slider. If you want to add or modify images (slides) in an existing slider, see Change your slider images.
To add a slider, first you create the Slider, setting options and adding images, and then you add the slider to a new Widget that is included on a page.

- In Magento, go to DDI Theme > Slider.
- On Absolute Slider page, click the Add New Slider button.
- On the New Slider page, set the following required options:
- Store View: Select a store to display this slider. By default, it will be available in All Store Views.
- Name: Type a name to help you identify the slider.
- Alias: Type the label that will be used when referring to slider within your XML and Template code. We recommend that you use all lower case and separate words with dashes rather than spaces.
- Set the remainder of the slider options. You can find tips beneath each option to help you decide, but you can start with the defaults.
- Click Save Slider.
- Add images to the slider as described in Change your slider images.

Once you have created your slider, you can add it to a widget that you then place on your page layout. See also Creating a widget in the Magento Help Center.
