The Warehouse Order Spawn option allows the system to automatically split up orders that require inventory from multiple locations. Products with alternate selling locations (as set on the Procurement tab) are separated at the time of order creation. They remain on the original order along with a hyperlink to the newly-spawned order for easy tracking. Sales of the product are applied to the warehouse that fulfills the order, while both Demand and Hits are applied to the location that created the order (allowing for more accurate forecasting).
Warehouse order spawn is fully compatible with spawned backorders; however, Point of Sale orders and Drop Shipments are not compatible and will remain on the original order. You can assign a default printer for the warehouse for printed orders (as well as backorder releases). When using Warehouse printers, a printer must be configured for each warehouse.
To enable this option, go to the File > Company > Master, click the Sales tab, and then set Spawn New S/O by Warehouse to Y. To ensure this option goes into full effect, log out of Inform and back in.
This feature is no compatible with the Wireless Warehouse System.
