To complete this process, we will set up your test site (sandbox), you then need to obtain a domain, and then launch the site to the public. Note that these are simply the server configuration steps. you still must configure your product catalog and buying options before you can go live.
To get you started, DDI can set up a test website available for internal use only. This site does not require a domain name; however, you must obtain a domain name before your website can go live.
Use the test site to adjust products and test your configuration of products and customers as well as verify your website functionality before your site is available to customers.
Your website can go live as soon as you Set up your company MobiOrder site and obtain a domain name.
- Sample main domain name:
SHOP.[COMPANYNAME].COM
- Sample sub-domain name:
SHOP.[CLIENTDOMAIN].COM
Your IT Support team will need to assign an external IP address in IIS to make the website available to the public.
An SSL Certificate provides a secure encrypted connection between a website and a visitor's browser. This security ensures that information users enter on your site (such as their username and password) remains private and secure. It also protects your users from hackers, identify thieves, and other threats, and adds to the credibility of your website.
The basic steps for obtaining, installing, and enabling an SSL certificate are described below.
Important!
MobiOrder requires an SSL Certificate. Your local IT Support team should be able to assist you.
- Obtain an SSL Certificate
Prior to obtaining a certificate, you must generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR). How you generate a CSR depends on which version of Microsoft's IIS is installed on your server (provided by GoDaddy Web Hosting). For instructions, see one of the following articles:
After you have generated the CSR, you can purchase an SSL Certificate. There are several SSL providers, but DDI recommends GoDaddy®.
- Install the SSL Certificate
After you have obtained your SSL Certificate, you must install it on your server via IIS. How you install the SSL depends on which version of Microsoft IIS is installed on your server:
Note: The above instructions pertain to SSL Certificates purchased from GoDaddy. Other providers may use a similar procedure. Be sure to verify the process with your provider before installing.
- Enable the SSL Certificate
When you complete the installation, your website must be configured to use the SSL Certificate. For assistance, please contact DDI Customer Care.
To go live with your website, your IT Support Team will need to open the port on the firewall where the website resides (the default for https is 443). If the website resides on a separate server, the port has to be opened and then directed toward the DDI server.
Please contact DDI Customer Care if you need assistance with this process.
