Suppose you have a single customer that has multiple locations that you have configured as multiple customer accounts. The pricing should stay consistent across all of those accounts. Inform ERP supports this configuration.
Decide which of the multiple customer accounts to designate as the parent for the group. It might be the first or the largest; it's up to you. Set up your pricing structure for this customer account, and note the Customer Number of this account.
For all the other customer accounts that should have the same pricing,
- Go to File>Customer>Master.
- On the Setup page, click the General tab.
- Under Sales Order Defaults, locate the Parent Pricing option and type the Customer Number of the account you designated as the parent. This option group multiple customer accounts together under the same pricing structure. Price Matrix formula prices and quoted prices are automatically shared among all of a parent's child accounts, however each customer account maintains a separate sales history.
Note however, for this reason, parent pricing does not work well if you are using the customer's Last Price Paid as the default in your Sales Orders. It will only use pricing set in the Price Matrix or on Price Quotes to the parent account, and not the parent account's Sales History, which is where the last paid price is stored.
Now that you have the accounts linked, you have two choices: you can keep this configuration and have the child subaccounts always inherit the pricing of the parent, or you can group all the accounts, so that a change to one, be it parent or child account, will be shared by all accounts. This configuration is called "Group Pricing." Margin based pricing can turn this on by setting the File>Company>Master: Use Parent Pricing in Last Price Paid to Yes.
