The Miscellaneous Charge Program allows you to determine when and how certain charges should apply to customer orders automatically. Miscellaneous Charge Programs incorporate miscellaneous charges that you have set up and linked to specific General Ledger accounts (File > Company > Miscellaneous Charge).
You can use these programs to charge a fee for small orders or offer free shipping on larger orders.
The amount can be a specific dollar amount or a percent markup of the order amount.
You can assign customers to multiple programs.
Create a miscellaneous charge program
- Navigate to File > Company > Miscellaneous Charge Program.
- Click New.
- Type a Program code using up to three characters, then press Tab on your keyboard.
- Type a Description.
- Select the Misc Charge Code for the program.
- Do either of the following:
- Type a dollar amount for Minimum S/O Amount.
Note: The minimum dollar amount a sales order must reach for the customer to avoid the miscellaneous charge.
- Type a dollar amount for Maximum S/O Amount.
Note: The maximum dollar amount a sales order can reach to avoid the miscellaneous charge.
- Type a dollar amount for Minimum S/O Amount.
- Select the Charge Amount.
Select $ or %, then type a corresponding value. For example, for a fifteen dollar delivery charge, select $ from the drop down and type 15.00. For a finance charge of eight percent, select % from the drop down menu then type 8.00.
- Select the Shippable check box to calculate the miscellaneous charge based on the sales order shippable amount.
- Select the Order Type to which the program applies.
- Select the All Customers check box to apply the program to all customers.
- Select the Based on Ship Via check box if the miscellaneous charge program is based on the shipping method for the order.
Note: In the Ship Via setup (File > Company > Ship Via) select the Auto Misc Charge.
- Select the Apply to B/O check box to apply miscellaneous charges to back order shipment cycles.
- Click Add Product Line. and then select the product lines in the grid to apply the charge program to only certain product lines.
- Click Save.
Assign a miscellaneous charge program to a customer
- Navigate to File > Customer > Master.
- Type or search for a Customer.
- Click Edit.
- Click the General tab.
- Click Add Miscellaneous Charge Program.
- Type or search for the Program Code in the Code column.
- Press Tab on your keyboard.
- Repeat for each program that you want to add.
- Click Save.
Edit a miscellaneous charge
- Navigate to File > Company > Miscellaneous Charge Program.
- Type or search for the Program.
- Click Edit.
- Make necessary changes.
- Click Save.
View a list of miscellaneous charges programs
- Navigate to File > Company > Miscellaneous Charge Program.
- Click Report.
- Drag items to view from Available fields to the Print Order area on the Field Selection dialog.
- Click OK.
- Click View on the Print Document pop-up.
