You can change the price of a product or group of products by a dollar amount or percent, while viewing the old and new price. You can also adjust the price rollup schedule for a single product or entire group.
Use this method of price change if you want precise control over each price, rather than price formulas, which apply rules to large groups of products.
If you want to change the price of a single product, and you do not need to view history, see Add main product and price information.
- Go to Sale > Pricing > Price Change.
- From the Select C/L Column list, select the Cost or List price column that you want to modify. For more information, see Learn about cost and list prices.
- From the Change Date calendar, choose the date on which you want the price change to take effect.
-
Add the products whose price you want to change
- To add products one at a time, click the Add Product button, and then type or search for the product in the Product column of the Products grid.
- To add a group of products, click the Select Products button. Choose the criteria, and then click OK to populate the Products grid. For more information, see Selecting data.
- If you are maintaining the product cost by warehouse, choose the Warehouse in which you want to apply the change, or All Warehouses to update them all at once. If you are not maintaining cost by warehouse, this option doesn't appear.
- There are two ways to change prices:
-
To change one price at a time:
- If you do not want the new price to use margin pricing, make sure the New M Price Disabled box is checked. This will ensure that the price your customers see does not change based on the current update. This field will not display if you are not using Last Price Paid as your default price for customers.
If you check the box, the product record is updated to indicate that any affected products are permanently disabled for margin price. You can find this setting to review or update manually by navigating to File > Product > Master. The Setup tab should be selected on the left side of the screen and the General subtab should be highlighted on the bottom of the screen. You should see the Disable Margin Price check box in the list of options in the rightmost column.
- In the New Value box, type the new price.
- Repeat for each product.
- If you do not want the new price to use margin pricing, make sure the New M Price Disabled box is checked. This will ensure that the price your customers see does not change based on the current update. This field will not display if you are not using Last Price Paid as your default price for customers.

If your price change is set to become effective on a future date, you can make changes to the prices by selecting the same group of products, cost or price column, and date. If your price change is set to become effective immediately (on your current date), the next time you select the same group of products, cost or price column, and date, the new values will appear in the Current Value column.
