You can create a new price contract directly from a quote, thereby enabling you to quote a project or job to a customer and carry that pricing through to new orders, if you don't want to convert the quote directly.
This functionality is useful if you use Formula Based Pricing. For example, if you issue a bid for a project. and are granted the bid, you have to honor the quote price that you bid, rather than calculate a formula price.
To enable this functionality, go to File>Company>Master: Sales, and set Display check box in Price Quote to save a Quote Price Contract to Y.
Once enabled, the option Price Contract appears under Quote in Sales Order Entry:
When you select this option and save the quote, Inform creates a new Price Contract for the Customer/Shipto with all the items and pricing from the quote.
Changes made to the quote reflect instantly in the Price Contract (as long as the Price Contract option is selected). Note that any changes made manually in the Price Contract will be updated and overwritten each time the quote is edited. Quantity Breaks are not supported as these cannot be set from a price quote.
