Although most of the invoice details are fixed based on customer settings and saved sales order information, you may modify a few details such as dates, messages, serial numbers, and commissions.
- Open an invoice as described in Get invoice details.
- On the Invoice page, click Change.
- From the calendar, you may change some dates:
- Invoice date: The date that the terms will use to calculate the due date and the discount date.
- Ship Date: The date on which the order should ship.
- Due Date: The date on which invoice payment is due. This date is calculated based on the customer's payment terms and the invoice date.
- Discount Date: If the invoice is paid by this date, then the discount associated with the payment terms or specified in the Discount Amount box will be applied.
- If there is any additional cost for shipping, type it into the Freight Cost box.
- If you need to add or change a Customer PO number, type it into the box provided.
- If you want to assign an Order Type, click
and choose one.
If you want to assign or change the Job ID, click
and choose one. You must select an existing Job. Note that if you change the Job, then this invoice will still be associated with the old Job ID as well when you view Customer Jobs.
- If you want to change the Salesman, click
and choose one.
- To change the period when to post the invoice, select the Post to Period from the list. The post to periods are in the format MMYY.
- To exclude this invoice from customer statements, select the Suppress From Statements check box.
- If you want to correct serial numbers on the invoice, click the Serial Numbers button, and edit them in the pop-up that appears. This button will be enabled only if there are serial numbers associated with the original order.
- To adjust salesman commissions, click the Commissions button, and then see Adjust the salesman commissions on an invoice
- Type a message to your customer into the Invoice message box.
- Click Save.
