Caches save loaded data, images, formats, and similar details for increased performance loading of the storefront.
Best caching practices
- Always flush the cache after updating CMS pages, the product catalog, or any CSS changes.
- When flushing caches, consider the type of cache and schedule the flushing during non-peak times. For example, pick a time when few customers may access the site such as late night or early morning. Clearing some cache types during peak times could result in high load times or result in the site being inaccessible until the process is complete.
Clear site cache
- Log in to the Magento admin panel.
- Click System on the Admin sidebar.
- Under Tools, click Cache Management.
- Refresh Specific Caches
- Select the check box at the beginning of the row of each cache to refresh.
- Set Actions to Refresh.
- Click Submit.
- Perform Mass Action Refresh
- Set Mass Actions to one of the following to select a group of caches:
- Select All
- Select Visible
- Select the check box of each cache to be targeted by the action.
- Set Actions to Refresh.
- Click Submit.
- Set Mass Actions to one of the following to select a group of caches:
- Flush the Product Image Cache
- Under Additional Cache Management, click Flush Catalog Images Cache to clear pre-generated product image files.
Note: A message at the top of the workspace indicates the image cache was cleared.
- Clear your browser cache.
- Under Additional Cache Management, click Flush Catalog Images Cache to clear pre-generated product image files.
- Flush the JavaScript/CSS Cache
Warning: eCommerce Pro uses Magepack Javascript bundling to enhance site speed and performance on the front-end. If you flush the JavaScript/CSS cache, you may disrupt the bundling and cause significant degradation of site performance. Contact DDI support before flushing the Javascript/CSS cache.
- Under Additional Cache Management, click Flush JavaScript/CSS Cache to clear any JavaScript and CSS files that have been merged into a single file.
Note: A message at the top of the workspace indicates the JavaScript/CSS cache was cleared.
- Clear your browser cache.
