To set up eCommerce Pro, you need to purchase and install a domain name SSL certificate.
SSL Certificates enable secure data transmission on your site. Once installed on a web server and tied to your domain name, an SSL Certificate will activate the padlock to let your users know that the site is secure, and enables the https protocol to allows secure connections from a web server to a browser.
The full configuration requires a partnership between your DDI eCommerce Pro Project Lead and your Internal IT resource.
|1||Customer||Purchase a domain name from a vendor such as GoDaddy.com.|
|2||Customer||Contact your eCommerce Pro Project Lead with the domain name you purchased.|
|3||DDI||Connect your domain name to our servers.|
|4||DDI||Provide you the IP address information for your DNS configuration. You will need to create A records for the Magento server, the Akeneo PIM server and the Inform ERP endpoint.
Update your DNS to point to the nameservers we provided.
|6||Both||Confirm that your domain name has propagated throughout the internet by running https://www.whatsmydns.net/|
|7||Customer||Purchase an SSL Certificate from a company such as PremiumSSL or the vendor of your choice.|
|8||Customer||Provide DDI with authentication information (User name and Password) for your SSL. To stay secure, you can change this information after DDI has completed installation and configuration; however, if you need future support for your SSL, we will need the information again.|
|9||DDI||We will generate the Certificate Signing Request (CSR). install SSL certificate, and complete the configuration.|
